Clausenhofkapelle
A gem in the upper Prisental valley
Owned by the Andrea and Klaus Pfaff family.
Beschreibung
The chapel was built by butcher Julius Pfaff in 1890 and is dedicated to St Anthony; a mass is held every two years.
Legend has it that butcher Julius Pfaff was forced to eat a meal in his childhood that disgusted him. He got TB, but was not yet diagnosed. Later he had to fetch a horse-drawn cart, the man sitting on the cart was very drunk and hadn't been paying attention, and that's when it happened. Julius went under the wheels and broke his leg. He said "when I get well again, I'll build a chapel in Prisen". He built a chapel when he was well again, but he died a short time later from TB, which he had already had as a child.
