After the oceans, healthy soils are the largest reservoir for greenhouse gases and make a significant contribution to reducing CO2. But it takes our planet more than 2,000 years to form ten centimetres of fertile soil. And yet we use our soils as if they were inexhaustible. This means that our food source is jeopardised - by us humans! What does this mean for the future? What needs to change so that we can pass on a world with living soils to our children?
