Skiing is at home in the Black Forest Highlands. In the over 300-year-old Hugenhof in Hinterzarten, the history of skiing from its beginnings in the Black Forest around 1890 on the Feldberg and its spread to the European low mountain ranges is on display. Successful sportsmen and sportswomen such as Georg Thoma as Olympic champion of the Nordic combined and Christl Cranz as an alpine skier are represented as well as the manufacture of skis and equipment and other departments - colourful ski fashion accessories, ski films, showcases full of medals, cups and start numbers, in short: from old wooden skis to snowboards, an exciting development of winter sports.
