Hexenlochmühle
The mill is located deep in the Hexenloch between Neukirch and St. Märgen. There are not only culinary highlights in the restaurant, the mill is also the starting point for a variety of hiking routes. There is a selection of gift items and a ‘bacon shop’, which surprises with many Black Forest specialities.
Beschreibung
The mill was built in 1825 and symbolises living tradition in the Black Forest. It has been owned by the Trenkle family since 1839 and was used as a sawmill. The fourth generation is now running the business. The Hexenlochmühle is the only mill in the Black Forest that is powered by two water wheels. The sawmill, which is powered by the water of the Heubach stream, can still be visited today.
The restaurant has a cosy Black Forest parlour and a large open-air terrace with a tent.
There are Black Forest specialities, hot and cold dishes as well as homemade cakes (e.g. Black Forest cake) and delicious ice cream.
