From lake to lake with a great view

Before taking the train back to Aha, enjoy a piece of Black Forest gateau at Café "zum gscheiten Beck" or Café "Schwarzwaldmaidle".

Start your hike at Aha railway station and walk along the road towards "Äule". On the right, past the kiosk, follow the "Lachenrüttenweg", past the "Schluchseeblick" viewpoint to the "Farnwitte".

Having arrived at the "Farnwitte", follow the "Zweiseenblickweg" until you reach the highest point. From this idyllic point, you can see the two Black Forest Highland lakes "Titisee" and "Schluchsee" far below you. Following the red rhombus of the "Westweg", hike along the "Hochkopfweg" in direction of "Feldberg-Seebuck". The path leads past the "Zweiseenblick" moor, one of the highest moors in the Black Forest Highlands, to the "Hochkopfhütte" (1206 m). From here, hike a short but very panoramic section to the Caritashaus.

At this point you are spoilt for choice, because for all those who have already got heavy legs, take the 7300 bus route which runs from here to Bärental, from where you can take a comfortable train to the starting point.

The more enduring hikers cross the road "B317" and take the "Seesträßchen" road down to the lake "Feldsee". A refreshment stop is just around the corner. The "Raimartihof" entices you with homemade delicacies in a rustic atmosphere.

Continue along the "Seebach" on the "Buchbühlweg" in direction of "Bärental" as far as "Zipfelsäge". There turn right towards the "Kunzenmoos" parking lot. Continue past the "Kunzenmoos" hiking parking lot for a short distance to the next crossroads, where you keep right up to "Bärental" train station.

From here take the hourly train back to the starting point, "Schluchsee-Aha".
