Wegbeschreibung
You start the tour at the Christkönig Catholic church. Construction of the Catholic parish church in Titisee began on July 26, 1936. You follow the Himmelreich Jakobusweg (yellow shell) of the “Alte Post-Straße” to the right. It leads you through the “squirrel forest” past the ice pond in the direction of Hinterzarten to the Jockelishof farm in Winterhalde. The courtyard chapel at Jockelishof is impressive with its depiction of the Virgin Mary in the altarpiece. Mary with the child in her arms, both with crowns on their heads surrounded by a medallion wreath of the mysteries of the rosary.
You leave the Jockelishof chapel and follow the Himmelreich Jakobusweg to the left up the slope to the “Mehlberg”. There we leave the Jakobusweg and follow the “yellow diamond” to the Bühlhof campsite. The path leads you through the forest over the Bühlberg to the campsite. Follow the hiking trail to the right along the campsite. On the right-hand side of the path that leads you down to Lake Titisee, you can already see your next destination, the Weberhof chapel. Before you reach the entrance to the campsite, you have a wonderful view of Lake Titisee. On your right, you will see a dirt road that takes you up the hill to the Weberhof. The chapel was built by the family in 1959. The bell came from the Jockelishof chapel when it got a new, larger one. The small chapel is surrounded by a magnificent pasture landscape high above Lake Titisee. The Weberhof is home to horses and cows that roam the adjacent pastures.
Walk down the access road towards Titisee and keep right at the hill towards Wohnpark Weiherhof. Follow the path past the residential complex and you will reach the Bankenhof on the hill. The Bankenhof chapel is your next destination. The chapel was renovated in 1980 and houses a beautiful altar with a beautiful statue of Mary as Queen.
Walk along the road in the direction of Bärental, past the Heizmannshof and St. Florianheim and you will come to the Henslerhof. The Henslerhof is located southwest of Lake Titisee in the district of Hinterzarten and was built in 1552. The farm was restored in 1990 using original building materials. The roof was covered with wooden shingles according to old Black Forest craftsmanship. The courtyard chapel is located at the entrance to the courtyard. The chapel dates from the time the farm was built, i.e. the 16th century, and is completely clad in wooden shingles. Like the courtyard, the chapel was renovated in 1990 in collaboration with the heritage office using materials typical of the period.
You leave the Henslerhof and walk past the farm through the water conservation area and nature reserve “Unteres Seebachtal”. After a wooden bridge over the Seebach, the tributary of Lake Titisee, the trail climbs steeply for a short while onto the Westweg which, if you keep left, leads you back along the lakeshore to Titisee. Across the lake, you have a view of the village of Titisee with its church, made famous by the “Black Forest Clinic”. You come to Seestraße, the shopping street of Titisee, cross the outflow from Titisee, the Gutach, and turn right into Hermeshofweg in front of the Cafe Restaurant Seeblick. You will reach the Hermeshof via the access road. The farm chapel awaits you at the front of the farm.
Return to Seestraße and follow the Westweg (red diamond). This will take you to “Alte Poststraße”, back to the Catholic church.
