Beschreibung
Narrow paths, breathtaking rocky pulpits, the omnipresent rushing Wutach and two worthwhile detours make this section a day-long experience. The nearby Lotenbachklamm gorge is worth a detour right at the start. A few steps later, the first waterfall rushes through the closely spaced rocks. Directly at the Schattenmühle mill, the Schluchtensteig trail climbs steeply up the forest slope, then runs pleasantly horizontally along the valley floor for quite a while and climbs almost imperceptibly up to the northern edge of the valley on the Baar. The few remains of the Räuberschlössle castle stand on an 80 metre high rock directly above one of the wildest and most impressive sections of the gorge. Below the nearby Stallegg ruins, the Wutach thunders with a deafening roar over the barrage of the Stallegg river power station, the oldest of its kind in Baden. The route then continues upstream along the Wutach. Long stretches of scree run from the Hörnle into the river, over hill and dale to the mouth of the Haslach and the Haslachklamm gorge. After Lenzkirch, the trail leads through the romantically quiet Schwendetal valley to Oberfischbach.
