Beschreibung
An (almost) gorge-free stage leads from the enchanting mountain village of Oberfischbach to St. Blasien. From the Bildstein (1,134 m), which towers high above the fir and spruce forests and is the highest section of the Schluchtensteig trail, the view sweeps from the Feldberg across the deep blue Schluchsee lake to the Alps. The Schluchtensteig then plunges back into dense forests. The scent of fresh resin fills the air and nutcrackers sit in the trees, scolding loudly. A few ancient Black Forest farmsteads stand between Oberer and Unterer Habsberg, their roofs pulled far down. Soon a familiar sound reaches your ears. Water rushes over a rock step, fans out like a veil and makes its way down through a steep valley to St. Blasien. Shortly before the end of the stage, the Windberg waterfall is a real treat for gorge lovers. The cathedral of St Blasius stands huge and completely oversized in the midst of the forests and mountains. The day's hike ends in splendour in the middle of the magnificent parkland between the banks of the Alb and the cathedral
