Beschreibung
From the climatic Kneipp spa resort of St. Blasien in the deep valley of the Alb, the wooden viewing tower on the 1,039 metre-high Lehenkopf has to be reached first. Soft forest paths lead from the tower over to the first pasture fields of Urberg and Dachsberg. There are a few farms along the way via Rüttewies and Horbach to the idyllic monastery pond. A short ascent leads up to the plateau and over to Ibach, which lies dreamily in the wide landscape. 427 people live in the high valley, which was formed by the Feldberg glacier during the Ice Age, and you would love to do the same. The most beautiful view over the village and the Hotzenwald forest stretching to the south as far as the Alps is from the cross-adorned hilltop above Ibach. The landscape changes again. The gorge trail zigzags steeply down into the Hohwehra gorge. The small, romantic forest gorge leaves hardly any space for the path and the Wehra. The river bounces over small cascades and drops towards Todtmoos, which nestles into the valley under the protection of its baroque pilgrimage church.
