Wegbeschreibung
A beautiful and impressive high-altitude hike with few ascents, ideal for leisure hikers.
From the starting point at the forest car park at Brend, take the Westweg (red diamond) to the Naturfreundehaus Brend. From there, follow the yellow diamond to the left and then turn right onto the Rosseckweg after approx. 100 metres. After approx. 2 km, the path branches off to the right up the mountain towards Kolmenkreuz, from where we can already see St Martin's Chapel. Here, the Kolmenhof mountain inn invites you to linger and a worthwhile detour leads to the source of the Danube.
The Westweg leads us to the Martinskapelle forester's lodge, where we then follow the blue rhombus to Käsmatte. We now follow forest paths through the forest to Spechttanne and on to the Christenmoos site. Here we keep left and hike gently downhill and uphill to St Martin's Chapel. At the Kolmenkreuz, we follow the red diamond and walk back to the starting point below the Günterfelsen.
Another little tip: it is worth making a detour to the viewing tower on the Brend before or after the hike, from where you have a marvellous view of the Black Forest.
