Windecktour - snowshoe trail

Clothing adapted to the weather and good snowshoes are essential.

You strap on your snowshoes directly behind the Kurhaus and initially hike along the Zartenbach stream on a flat route. Later, you climb in gentle hairpin bends along the edge of the forest and across wintry meadows and experience a wonderful view over Hinterzarten. The route continues on undulating terrain to another vantage point above the Gaiserhof. Behind you is the small lift area at Windeckkopf and in front of you the view opens up to the east towards Hochfirst and Neustadt. Before you reach the highest point of the tour, there is a short downhill section. You pass the Windeck and follow the path up to 991m. You then head back downhill over wide open spaces towards the starting point. A wonderful trail with magnificent views!

Snowshoe trails are specially signposted hiking trails, away from cleared hiking trails and cross-country ski trails, through untouched winter landscapes. These routes can only be followed with snowshoes. Safe walking on uneven terrain is a prerequisite!
