Winter hike around Aftersteg

Enjoy the snow-covered winter landscape and views over Aftersteg to Todtnau.

This 7km winter walk takes you from the Aftersteg hamlet of Hasbach to Muggenbrunn and from there via Dachsrain back to Hasbach.

Start in the Aftersteg hamlet of Hasbach and head towards the ski lift. After 600 metres the path splits in two. Take the lower path and walk above Aftersteg towards Lägerwald. Above Aftersteg there are great views over the snow-covered village of Aftersteg and towards Todtnau's local mountain, the Hasenhorn. Continue into the Lägerwald forest and follow the path to the end of Hohfelsstrasse. Turn left here and follow the signs to 'Dachsrain' through the wintry Lägerwald forest before reaching the highest point of the tour - the Dachsrain (1100m) after a good kilometre and a half. Bear left here and follow the blue winter hiking trail signposts with the number 3 until you come to another crossroads after a good kilometre. Leave the Oberer Rüttewaldweg and turn left onto the Unterer Rüttewaldweg. From here it is all downhill. You will return to your starting point in Hasbach via Schweizer Eck.
