Ursee Valley
The Urseetal is a side valley of the Haslach River. Various little streams feed Lake Ursee which is located in a nature preservation area. A stream flows out of Lake Ursee and through the nature preservation area to Lenzkirch, where it joins the Haslach River.
Beschreibung
The Urseetal is located west of Lenzkirch, between the road from Lenzkirch to Schluchsee (L156) and the Kreisstrasse K4990 leading from Lenzkirch to Raitenbach. The stream originates just below the so-called Stossfelsen, a viewing platform. It flows eastwards into the moraine landscape, beyond the Möslehof. The valley is wider here, encompassing the moors with Lake Ursee – both relics of the last Ice Age. This moor landscape stretches all the way to the houses of Spitzhalde. After that, the stream flows all the way to Lenzkirch, where it powers a large mill by the spa house before joining the Haslach River. Photo: Bernhard Kleine
