Beschreibung
Certified as a spa and "kneipp" town, you can let your soul unwind in St. Blasien. Enjoy a lively little town with stylish stores and fine restaurants. The townscape is impressively dominated by the St. Blasius Cathedral. Its dome, with a diameter of 36 meters, is one of the largest in Europe. Musicians and listeners appreciate the magnificent acoustics of the cathedral. The international cathedral concerts in July and August offer an extraordinary sound experience.
The district of Menzenschwand is a Black Forest village like out of a picture book, both in summer vacation and in winter. Here, the characteristic typical Black Forest houses with their low-pitched hipped roofs catch the eye, merging into one with the wonderful Black Forest landscape. A hiking highlight is the certified premium trail Menzenschwander Geißenpfad. This trail also leads past the romantic Menzenschwander waterfalls. As a spa resort, the village is located on the southern slope of the Feldberg in a sunny, long-stretched valley. The wellness oasis Radon Revital Bad is a treat for body and soul.
The idyllic and quietly situated district of Albtal lies on the small river Alb, which has its source on the Feldberg, the highest mountain in the Black Forest. All the beauty of the valley with its fields and meadows is reflected in the Albsee, an oasis of peace to linger. For those who want to get to know the valley on a challenging trekking tour, we recommend the multi-day tour Albsteig, on 82 kilometers between Albbruck and the Feldberg pass.
