Beschreibung
Moderate to difficult premium hiking trail with two major ascents, magnificent views from the Rohrhardsberg towards the Rhine plain, Vosges mountains, northern Black Forest and Swabian Alb. At 1,163 m, Rohrhardsberg is the highest point in the Schwarzwald-Baar district.
Good to know: The cuckoo clocks are taken down during the winter, as they can otherwise be damaged by the winter weather. In spring, the cuckoo clocks are hung up again.
Autorentipp
When there are good weather conditions you can enjoy the far-reaching views as far as the Rhine Valley, the Vosges mountains and the northern Black Forest.
Wegbeschreibung
From the Mühlebühlbrücke Rohrhardsberg parking lot, after a few meters you walk up the Elz over a wooden bridge. Along the Auerhahnkugelbahn, which is part of the Rohrhardsberg nature experience area, the path leads you to a parking lot. At the end of the car park, turn right onto the Richard-Tüchle-Weg (named after the long-time trail warden of the Black Forest Association from 1950 to 1980) and then follow the narrow paths and rustic forests up to the summit of the 1,163-metre Rohrhardsberg.
This is followed by a viewpoint from which you can look out over the Rhine Valley and the Vosges mountains on a clear day. After a short stretch with more impressive views towards the northern Black Forest and the Swabian Alb, you reach the rustic wood-carved Schwedeschanze restaurant.
The trail continues past the impressive Schänzlehof (the highest farm in the central Black Forest) down to the listed Ochsenhof farm. The trail then leads steeply downhill parallel to the stream to the former village center of Rohrhardsberg. Parallel to the wet camp site, the trail crosses a bridge to the forest adventure station with a large wood grouse. A narrow path then leads along the Elzwasserfälle waterfalls back to the starting point at the Mühlebühlbrücke bridge.
