Bertoldsplatz is a small and popular square in front of the former St Peter's Monastery in the Black Forest. In the middle of the square stands the Bertoldsbrunnen fountain, which was erected in honour of its founder Berthold II of the House of Zähringen. After the square was remodelled, the coats of arms of 12 Zähringen town founders have adorned the ground since the 900th anniversary celebrations in 1993.
