Formerly part of Lenzkirch, Fischbach was moved to Schluchsee in 1957. A painting from the Baroque period is dedicated to St Magnus. St Magnus was a Benedictine monk and abbot of the Füssen monastery in the Allgäu and lived in the 8th century. He is said to have driven away bears, snakes and all kinds of vermin with his abbot's staff. This is why Magnus is the patron saint of Black Forest farmers against worms, snakes, rats and field mice.
