Christ the King Catholic Church
The idea of Christ the King is symbolised by the building itself.
Beschreibung
The first stone of the church was laid on 26 July 1936.
The shell of the building, including the 42 metre high spire with cross, was completed by mid-November. Work on the interior began in the spring of 1937 and the four bells arrived in June. The church was consecrated on 5 September 1937, but unfortunately the first bells had to be given away for war purposes in 1942. The war also delayed the completion of the church, either because of the difficult financial situation or because of delays in the delivery of the woodcarvings.
Renovation of the church 1998/1999
Thanks to the willingness and dedication of many hard-working helpers, the church was thoroughly renovated in 1998/1999. This included the remodelling of the choir room.
New organ for Christ the King in September 2015
The festive inauguration of the organ with Bishop Emeritus Rainer Klug took place on 20 September 2015.
