Fallerhof
It really exists, the "Fallerhof". What viewers are presented with Sunday after Sunday in the Südwestrundfunk television series as a rural idyll is by no means a mere dummy. The farm, along with its animals big and small, actually exists and is located in the middle of the holiday region - but where?
Beschreibung
Things that are kept a secret are all the more interesting and attractive - they awaken the natural hunting instinct in people. So it can happen that, in search of their heroes, euphoric fans burst into the middle of the events of the family inhabiting the film farm and find them going about their daily work. And there is plenty of it, as the "real" farmers run a full-time farm with a total area of 95 hectares. The livestock of around 55 cows is just as labour-intensive as their own hunting grounds, which are also part of the farm.
More than 15 years ago, the family made their farm available to the then SWF for outdoor filming and for filming in the barn - not realising that the series would become a long-running hit with a host of fans. In this sense, the farm is not a walk-in exhibit, but rather the home and workplace of a completely "normal" family that wants to maintain its privacy just like everyone else. After all, the "Fallers" represent the entire Black Forest, and there are plenty of farms to visit.
So far, 832 episodes have appeared in 20 seasons. Around 70 per cent of the Fallers' scenes are filmed in SWR's Ernst Becker Studios 3 and 4 in Baden-Baden, which can be visited all year round (advance booking required).
