The legend of the Kräuterlies
Not far from here, in the Seebachtal, lived a poor widow named "Kräuterlies". Every day she searched the depths of the Black Forest for herbs and sold them to apothecaries all over the region.
One hot day, she was walking in the forest when the heat overcame her and she fainted.
When she regained consciousness, she saw a small, dainty man not far from her beckoning her over.
He led her to a place where a stone lay on the ground. He rolled it aside and clear water gushed from the ground. The little man disappeared and Kräuterlies drank from the water. Immediately she regained her strength. She carefully covered the spring so that no one would find it.
From then on, she often came here to fill jugs with the healing water. She continued to sell her healing water to the sick and kept her secret well.
When the spring dried up after many years and Kräuterlies was also very old, she decided to hide away all her treasures which she gained from selling the healing water over the course of her life.
So she carried all her treasures to the edge of the forest near Titisee. On her way home, she put up all kinds of riddles and obstacles so that no
one would ever find her treasure. She wrote instructions and left them to her only daughter. But her daughter underestimated her old mother's wealth and never set out to find the treasure.
Recently, the puzzle instructions of the old Kräuterlies, which were thought to be lost, were found in a cellar vault. So far, no one has managed to solve all the puzzles and find the treasure.
Set out now, you may be lucky and richly rewarded.

Always remember that you are in the home of many wild animals. Never go cross-country, you don't want anyone wandering through your home. Also be careful not to damage the many different plants that make the Black Forest so unique. It is only thanks to this flora that so many animal species can call the Black Forest Highlands their home. So help to protect nature and leave the forest as you found it! The forest inhabitants will thank you.
