Beschreibung
The carillon (design: J. Homolka) consists of 16 bells with an electronic switching system, precisely tuned to the corresponding sound dispositions with various melody cycles (adapted to the season). The carillon is intended to demonstrate the development of the community of St. Georgen (foundation of the monastery, granting of market rights, naming of the town). Four figures adorn the carillon. Inauguration on 29.06.1985.
Sculptures depict the following people:
Emperor Maximilian - he granted the town market rights
Grand Duke Friedrich von Baden - he elevated St. Georgen to a town
Abbot Theoger - he once brought the famous St. George's Monastery to prosperity
The fourth figure represents a citizen of St. Georgen as a symbol of craftsmanship and industry.
