Heinz Wagner Sektmanufaktur
The spa town of St. Blasien in the Black Forest is home to Germany's highest sparkling wine factory at 777 metres above sea level.
Beschreibung
Heinz Wagner Sektmanufaktur presents exquisite sparkling wine cuvées from traditional bottle fermentation, impressing connoisseurs and experts from near and far.
Maximilian Wagner, founder of Heinz Wagner Sekt, is continuing an old family tradition here. The manufactory is housed in an old drinks shop behind the façade of a traditional wooden building. In contrast to this: the spacious salesroom with a casually minimalist interior, designed by the Berlin studio Boucherie & Vollmert.
The location of the Heinz Wagner Sektmanufaktur also contributes to sustainability: At 777 metres above sea level, no additional cooling is required; the sparkling wine cellar measures a constant 10 degrees Celsius.
Everything by hand, everything on site - traditionally fermented in the bottle
At Heinz Wagner Sekt, everything is homemade: The team lovingly fills the bottles by hand with the base wines, prepares the yeast, disgorges, riddles and finally labels the filled sparkling wine bottles.
Sustainability and regionality are very important to the young company.
The base wines and must are sourced from the neighbouring region of South Baden. The short production routes favour the quality of the sparkling wine, the team retains control over the product and COշ emissions are kept to a minimum.
Heinz Wagner Sektmanufaktur is committed to the paperless bottle: The young company will print directly on its sparkling wine bottles in future and no longer use paper labels. This will enable Heinz Wagner Sekt to save up to 20,000 litres of water a year. With the NO PAPER LABEL® campaign, Heinz Wagner Sekt would also like to encourage other producers to do without paper labels.
Guided tours of the manufactory are available by prior arrangement by e-mail to [email protected] or by telephone on +49 (0)7672 / 9226630.
