Beschreibung
The ski jump, which was built in 1924 and last modernised in 2010, hosts numerous International Ski Federation (FIS) competitions every year. The best-known competition is the Black Forest Cup, which has been held since 1967. Since 1984, it has been organised as a World Cup competition as part of the Nordic Combined World Cup.
Every year, the world's best Nordic combined athletes come to Schonach to compete for great distances on the Langenwaldschanze and good running times in the ski stadium. Schonach's Langenwaldschanze is the home hill of all Black Forest ski jumpers, most notably 2006 Olympic champion Georg Hettich.
The inrun length of the ski jump is 99 metres, the length of the landing hill with outrun 220 metres. The inrun tower is 38 metres high.
