The stone collection in St. Georgen displays mainly stone witnesses from the time of the defunct monastery of St. Georgen at three locations.
Beschreibung
In the freely accessible large gallery in the monastery courtyard you can see, among other things, a tomb slab of the nobleman Adalbert von Ellerbach from 1121 and the Brigach spring stone from the Celto-Roman period. Gravestones of various important secular figures from the monastery period and a Protestant abbot can be found in the Lorenzkirche. Other important gravestones, as well as boundary stones, memorial stones and building stones are housed in the basement of the Robert Gerwig School.
