Municipality of Schonach

Schonach, with the districts of Rohrhardsberg (an independent municipality until 1970) and Schonachbach (located below Triberg), is one of the largest village communities in the Black Forest and lies in one of the most beautiful high valleys, 600 - 1,164 m above sea level - the centre of the village is 850 m above sea level. The landscape is characterised by a wide variety of hills and valleys and is criss-crossed by forests, meadows and pastures, heaths and moors.
