Narrenzunft Eisenbach e.V.
Eisenbach was a place for miners for around 400 years: the mine in the Upper Black Forest community was first mentioned in a document in 1523.
Beschreibung
These miners were the first Eisenbachers to celebrate carnival in Villingen as early as 1605. The workers were repeatedly banned from the festivities, but this never completely prevented them from continuing the carnival tradition.
The first record of carnival in Eisenbach dates back to 1884, when a "foolish committee" invited people to a "pompous masked procession" followed by a ball at the Gasthaus Bad. The carnival as we celebrate it today was brought to Eisenbach by Mathias Koch from Bräunlingen in 1904.
These festivities initially came to an end with the First World War. In 1924, however, they were taken up again by the fire brigade music. Koch founded a six-member committee for the first time in 1925, which organised the Fasnet. However, after a member of the committee had invited all the fools to eat and drink for free and the businessmen Dietsche, Kramer and Bühler had to take over the entire colliery, this committee broke up again.
Mathias Koch finally founded the Fools' Council in 1934. At the same time, the Eisenbach Fools' Guild was formed as a loose group, although it was not registered as an association.
In 1975, the miner emerged from the mining tradition as a carnival figure. The association was officially registered at the same time. The miner's wooden mask shows a colourful face carved in stone.
Today, the Eisenbach carnival consists of the guild evening, Schmutziger Dunschdig, Fasnet Fritig and Fasnet Mendig.
