Nature reserve Blindensee
This legendary high moor lake is located in a nature reserve between the Black Forest Highlands' municipalities of Schönwald and Schonach.
Beschreibung
Creeping pines and rare plants such as cotton grass, rushes, sedges, cranberry, centaury, heather and sundew grow on the boggy wetlands surrounding the inky and almost circular lake. Its dark water seems unfathomably deep. The bottom of the lake is completely swampy. Already at a depth of 60 cm a first layer of mud begins, without solid ground afterwards. The lake is located directly on the Westweg, or rather the Westweg goes right through the middle of the nature reserve. In the direct area of the lake, the trail goes over wooden footbridges, and along the way, benches invite you to rest and linger in nature.
The small high moor lake owes its name to a farm of the same name.
It is characteristic that the lake has neither inflow nor outflow.
Brand new: On the Schönwälder side you can relax at the newly created Schönwälder "favorite place Blindensee".
