Beschreibung
Welcome to the new "old" Todtnau town hall.
The building, still affectionately known as the "Schlössle" by the people of Todtnau, was originally built in 1859 as a manufacturer's villa. Thankfully, it did not fall victim to the great town fire in 1876. It was not until 1953 that the building was purchased by the town of Todtnau from its former owners and converted into a town hall.
Initially, however, only half of the building was used as the town hall, with the then mayor Dietsche and his family living in the other half. When the municipal reform was implemented in 1974 and the districts became part of Todtnau, the administration also needed more space, and so the entire building was eventually used as the town hall. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the town charter, the town hall was modernised in 2008/09.
