Sanagarten St. Blasien
For safety reasons, the park will remain closed to visitors until further notice!
A gem of garden art and testimony to St. Blasien's great past as a spa town - this is the so-called Sana Garden, St. Blasien's little "Sanssouci".
Beschreibung
The Sanagarten, which was created as a strolling garden for the patients of the former lung sanatorium, now the St. Blasien Clinic, is a reminder of St. Blasien's great history and tradition as a health resort.
Built between 1923 and 1925, the terraced garden is considered an outstanding example of representative garden architecture from the 1920s. It forms a unit with the former sanatorium above, emphasising its exposed location at the foot of the Bötzberg.
Hardly any visitor can escape the morbid charm of the park, which still seems to have a touch of the magic mountain atmosphere - a place that tells of a lost era and invites you to dream and linger.
The listed Sanagarten, which is now to be renovated, is open to visitors all year round. Access is from Bernau-Menzenschwander Str. 14 - 16 and from Muchenländer Str., near the St. Blasien clinic.
Barrier-free access to the upper terrace level is possible from Muchenländer Str. (level with St. Blasien Clinic).
