You look down on the tops of the mighty Black Forest pines. You can feel that tingle. First in your stomach, then in your whole body. Nature so close and yet so far away.
Some facts about the suspension bridge
The total weight of the bridge is 730 tons, the pylons weigh 46 tons, the height of the pylons is 16 meters, the weight of the footbridge is 55 tons, the carrying ropes weigh 15.4 tons, the wind rope weighs 3 tons, the span of the bridge is 450 meters, the walkway width is 1.20 meters, the maximum load is 1000 persons. The maximum load is 1000 people and the diameter of the cables is 76 mm.

Please note that it is not forbidden to take a dog with you, but the wire mesh of the bridge makes it difficult for many dogs to cross.
We would also like to make it possible for people in wheelchairs or with strollers to visit us every day, not just on certain days or at certain times. However, access for wheelchairs and baby carriages is only possible at the west end of the bridge (at the Visitor Center / Sommerberg side) and only during the Visitor Center's opening hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until the end of October). The staff on site will let the wheelchairs/strollers onto the bridge through a separate entrance and off the bridge on the same side. The number of wheelchairs/strollers is limited, so there may be a short wait.
