Beschreibung
We hike from Löffingen, past meadows and fields that are a colorful sea of flowers in spring, to the geranium village of Unadingen.
Wegbeschreibung
The path leads eastwards across the gently sloping shell limestone plateau with great views. We leave the town of Löffingen via the Obere Hauptstraße to the east. At the last houses at the fork with a crossroads, we keep right, reach another fork after approx. 100m and follow the yellow diamond sign to Unadingen. To the right and left of the path, meadows and fields are accompanied by hedges, the edges of which offer a colorful flowering picture in early summer and are the habitat of rare bird species such as whinchats. Lark song accompanies hikers in spring and summer, while kites, buzzards and kestrels can be spotted all year round. Shortly before Unadingen, we do not take the meadow path that branches off to the left but stay on the asphalt road that curves into the Bachheim valley and, after a slight ascent, leads to Unadingen. Some of the typical Baar houses are still preserved in Unadingen. It is a tradition in the village to decorate the windows and surroundings of the properties with rich geranium decorations in spring. A geranium festival is therefore held every 3 years.
