Beschreibung
The Hochschwarzwald summit trail can be easily divided into four stages. Overnight accommodation is available in hotels, guesthouses and campsites along the route.
Your first stage (approx. 40 km) leads from Neustadt via Titisee and Hinterzarten to Notschrei. A detour to the highest point in the Black Forest, the Feldberg summit, which is halfway between the Haus der Natur and the Todtnauer Hüttte, is definitely worthwhile.
The Waldhotel am Notschreipass is a great place to stay overnight.
The next day, you ride the second stage (46 km) to Todtnau and Bernau. As an option, you can use the Hasenhorn lift to transport yourself and your mountain bike to the top. On your tour, you will ride through pristine forests, across secluded high pastures and panoramic mountains such as the Stübenwasen, from where you can see as far as the Alps and the Vosges on a clear day. Information about overnight accommodation is available from the Bernau Tourist Information Office. The Hotel Bären is a good place to stay overnight.
There are hardly any natural water sources on this stage. It is therefore important to take enough water with you. This of course applies to all stages.
On the third stage (approx. 26 km), you cycle from Bernau via Schluchsee to Rothaus. Here it is worth packing your swimming gear to refresh yourself in the cool waters of the Schluchsee or Schlüchtsee lakes. A visit to the Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus brewery is also a great way to take a breather.
Information about overnight accommodation is available from the Grafenhausen/Rothaus tourist information office.
The “Zum Löwen” inn, Haus Monika Maier or Hofgut Dürrenbühl are examples of accommodation options in Grafenhausen.
On your fourth stage (approx. 28 km), you cycle back to the starting point from Rothaus via Lenzkirch to Neustadt. You can also take a short break here and visit the Hochfirstschanze in Neustadt, for example.

Wegbeschreibung
The summit trail starts at Neustadt railroad station. From there, head towards Titisee. You pass the Kurhaus Titisee and the bathing area and leave the well-known Black Forest town. You pass Hinterzarten and cycle past the Mathisleweiher pond over the Rinken towards Feldsee. On your further route, you will pass the valley station of the Feldbergbahn cable car and, after a steady ascent, you will pass the Todtnauer Hütte hut to the Stübenwasen. Here, your efforts and the meters of altitude you have covered are rewarded with a breathtaking view. Over the Notschrei, past Muggenbrunn, you come to Todtnauberg. After a short climb, follow the summit trail signs downhill towards Todtnau. From there you ride over the Gisiboden and the Blößling past various districts of Bernau before reaching Schluchsee via the Muchenland. There you ride towards the dam wall and Seebrugg, from where you ride to Rothaus. Via Balzhausen, a suburb of Grafenhausen, you reach Lenzkirch. You cross the small town and set off on our final ascent to the Hochfirst, where you can enjoy the view of Lake Titisee. You pass the Hochfirstschanze and return to your starting point, Neustadt station.
