A winter walk from Muggenbrunn through the enchanting Holzschlagbach Valley to Todtnauberg. With snow-covered winter forests and frozen streams, the Holzschlagbach Valley offers a breathtaking winter landscape. On the way there is a small hut in the middle of the valley. There is a small bench on the sunny side where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine. You can hear the idyllic sound of the babbling brook all the way through the Holzschlagbach valley and get away from it all. When you arrive at Todtnauberg, you can either take the bus back to Muggenbrunn or simply walk back along this beautifully situated trail.
Wegbeschreibung
Your hike starts at the car park at the Wasenlift opposite the campsite in Muggenbrunn. From here, follow the signs for winter hiking trail 5, which first takes you below the Heubühl, across a snow-covered plateau towards Holzschlagbachtal.
On the gently sloping path, you have a fantastic view over the snow-covered winter village of Muggenbrunn. After around one kilometre, you reach the pristine and wildly romantic Holzschlagbach valley. Here, the trail continues uphill and takes you to a small pasture and snack hut in the middle of the valley. Here you can take a short break and enjoy the idyllic tranquillity.
The path now leads you further into a snow-covered forest. Follow the hiking trail to the Klusenbrücke bridge. Once there, cross the bridge and hike up to Todtnauberg on the other side of the stream. Shortly after the bridge, the hiking trail forks into two halves. Turn left and continue uphill until you reach the Radschert hiking car park.
Here you now have two options: Either walk down into the village to the ‘Todtnauberg-Rathaus’ bus stop and take the L7215 bus towards Kirchzarten and return to the starting point at the ‘Muggenbrunn-Säge’ bus stop or hike back the same way to enjoy the beautiful landscape once again.
