Beschreibung
We start today's circular walk at the Kurhaus in Lenzkirch and walk along the street "Am Kurpark" in an easterly direction. After a few meters a small narrow bridge leads us to the Ludwig-Kegel-Str.. We follow this to the right with the rhombus of the Schluchtensteig and walk through the Niederdorf past the traditional wood carving workshop Faller. The hiking sign "Lochmühle" (yellow rhombus) leads us to the left on a slightly ascending path in the direction of Kappel. Past hiking benches that invite us to linger, the forest path winds through a small section of forest.
After a few meters we reach the small village of Kappel, situated on the sunny southeast slope of the Hochfirst. In Kappel, the parish church, first mentioned in 1275 and dedicated to St. Gallus, invites you to pause for a few minutes.
An absolute insider tip is the Gasthaus Blume in Kappel. Here we have the opportunity to have a chat with locals and enjoy original Black Forest dishes. A visit is really worth it!
On the Mühlhaldenweg we walk a short distance through Kappel before we can fully enjoy nature again. At the location "Lochmühle" we turn right over the Strohberg in the direction of Kappler Straße. From this almost 900 m high elevation we have a wonderful view over the Haslach town of Lenzkirch. From here on, it's all downhill, we cross the L 156 which leads towards Kappel and pass the town sign of Lenzkirch.
Those of us who would now like to extend their hike can take a detour through Kucky's bird world in the Sommerberganlagen. This is a varied walk for the whole family with many interesting information boards where you can find out a lot about birds. If we do not choose this option, the road "Am Sommerberg" leads us directly back to the town center and the Kurhaus, our starting point.
