On the Kandelhöhenweg from St. Peter to Freiburg

Access to the "Kandelhöhenweg" can be reached from "St. Peter-Zentrum" past "Gasthof Zum Kreuz" and up "Scheuergasse". At the first junction on the left you reach the "Sauwasen" via the "Wolfweg" - at the "Kandelhöhenweg" (marking: white K on a red rhombus). Here is a clear view of the "Kandel", the "Felbergmassiv" and down to "Glottertal". On a small paved road, past "Hornhof" and "Langeckhof", you reach a footpath halfway through a wooded area that extends to the gates of "Freiburg". With the "Conventwald" one crosses the natural "Bannwald" and reaches over the "Flaunser" the "Streckereck". From here it goes down to the lookout point "Martinsfelsen" with rest area and then to "Rosskopf", whose lookout tower allows a magnificent panoramic view in favorable weather. From the "Rosskopf" the tour leads steeply down the valley over the "Rosskopfhaldenweg" and at the "Kanonenplatz" lookout point to the "Schwabentor" - the final stage destination.
