Winter hike to the cradle of the cuckoo clock

From the tourist information office, follow signpost 4 via the church square to the town centre. At the Narrenbrunnen fountain, the path turns right into the landscape garden. Follow this until you reach the Sägeloch. Turn right there until you reach the district road, which you follow for approx. 300 metres.

At the Sägebauernhof farm, the path leads towards Oberort and Baslertal, past the birthplace of the cuckoo clock. Follow the path to Escheck with its two opportunities to stop for refreshments, Gasthof Kreuz and Schwarzwald-Patisserie Löwen. Continue along the old Escheck road through the Dobel ski lift back to Schönwald.

Good footwear and clothing suitable for the weather are essential for a wonderful winter hiking experience. Drinks and rucksack provisions are recommended for all tours.
