The 10th Black Forest Cake Festival on May 4, 2025 in Todtnauberg
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the best Black Forest Cake will be sought and chosen at the Kurhaus Todtnauberg from 11 am. The competition, in which professional and amateur confectioners can take part, will last until 5 pm.
The Black Forest Cake festival opens at 11 am. Afterwards, guests will be introduced to the history of the cake from the Black Forest. Franz-Josef Koszinowsky will then show you how a Black Forest Cake is made. He can boast several successes in the confectionery trade. For example, he has received diplomas in Switzerland, won the creative competition for the confectionery trade in 2007 and the Widmann Cup Gold at Intergastra Stuttgart in 2014.
Before the professional and amateur bakers compete for the prize money for the most beautiful cake, there will be a “celebrity round”. Who will bake the most beautiful Black Forest Cake? This year, the "Kaiserstühler Kirschenhoheiten" will also be taking part.
Before the professional and amateur competitions, the 4th Black Forest Cake Ambassador will be named and honored by the reigning Black Forest Cake Ambassador Hansy Vogt.
The award ceremony marks the fitting end to the Black Forest Cake Festival.
On the jury, master confectioners Armand Maier, Franz-Josef Koszinowsky and Walter Georg Blust as well as chef Alfred Boch evaluate the cakes according to the criteria of appearance, craftsmanship and taste, with all participants receiving a certificate and the winner winning prize money.
The best three participating trainees from the catering and confectionery trades can also take part in a sugar course run by jury member Franz-Josef Koszinowsky.
