Beschreibung
The hike takes you along the raging water on narrow paths through the green, mossy rock faces of the Schluchtensteig. You will also pass the remains of the Räuberschlössle, which towers on an 80-metre-high rock directly above one of the wildest and most impressive sections of the gorge. There is no better resting place! Below the nearby Stallegg ruins, the Wutach thunders with a deafening roar over the barrage of the Stallegg river power station, the oldest of its kind in Baden, which supplied the princely castle and Fürstenberg brewery with electricity from 1889 to 1979.
Wegbeschreibung
It is only a few meters across the road from the hiking parking lot to the entrance to the gorge. A few steps later, the first waterfall rushes past us through the closely spaced rocks. Root steps and ladders lead deeper and offer a new waterfall step after every bend. Directly at the Schattenmühle mill, the Schluchtensteig trail climbs steeply up the forest slope, then leads us horizontally along the valley floor for quite some distance and we climb up to the northern edge of the valley on the Baar. Here we come across the few remains of the Räuberschlössle. A footbridge leads us over the Rötenbach stream, which flows into the valley with great momentum. A narrow mountain path leads down into the valley and arouses curiosity - you can risk a glance as far as the large waterfall. Then continue upstream along the Wutach. Long boulders stretch from the Hörnle into the river, over hill and dale to the mouth of the Haslach. A high footbridge leads across the Wutach one last time, then the trail turns towards the Haslachklamm gorge, climbs over the Rechenfelsen rock to the Hölllochfelsen rock and soon reaches Lenzkirch on the route of the former Haslachtal railroad.
