From Thurner to the idyllic Jostal valley

You start your tour at 1032 m at the Thuner hiking parking lot. First you go to the St. Wolfgang chapel. When you leave the Thuner chapel, follow the hiking trail marked with a yellow diamond towards “Holzletz”. There you follow the road towards Bruckbach. You can already see your next destination, the chapel at the Holzhof farm in Bruckbach.

Like the Thunerkapelle, the chapel was also dedicated to St. Wolfgang. Continue along the road towards Rutscherhof. You walk past pastures to your next destination, the Dominikhof. From the Dominikhof, follow the hiking trail towards Eckbach. The path leads you through a small wood into a beautiful valley. Leave the path at the old schoolhouse and follow the road down to the Eckbach stream. Follow the Eckbach valley to the left until you reach Jostalstraße. There you can already see the Urishof farm chapel. Once you have visited the chapel, go back the way you came, cross Jostalstraße and turn onto the tarred road. Follow the route in the direction of Einsiedel. You will then pass the Rainhäusle and the Josenmühle. Take a detour there and turn right towards the former Hotel Josen with the Josenkapelle chapel. The chapel was built in 1600 and dedicated to St. Jodocus. The Jostal owes its name to the chapel. Leave the Josenkapelle chapel and walk back to the Josenmühle mill. There you follow the yellow rhombus, which leads you past the Rainhof to the Rainhofberg, and from there past pastures and to the Doldenhof. The chapel of St. Maria in Einsiedel awaits you there. You take the hiking trail over the “Schanze” to Doldenbühl and enjoy a great view from there. It shows you some of the stops along the way from a distance. Go back to the “Schanze” crossroads and follow the western trail (red route) to the “Süßen Häusle”. From the “Süßen Häusle”, take the direct route to Thuner, your starting point.
