The hike offers you a perfect mix of paths through the local forest, across meadows and pastures. Here you have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views over the small village of Saig and the surrounding area.

After the hike, be sure to visit the water treading area "An der Steig" in Saig and refresh your tired feet. You will find it past the "Haus des Gastes", following the road down towards the "Kuhle(h)rpfad".
Wegbeschreibung
You start your tour at the "Haus des Gastes" in Saig. From here, cross "Titiseestraße" and follow the "Hochfirstweg" uphill. Keep straight ahead and you will reach the "Turmweg", which takes you up to the "Waldhotel". Here, turn right into the sparse forest in the direction of the "Marienkreuz" and "Hierabrunnen" and breathe in the refreshing, spicy forest air. Once you reach the "Marienkreuz", follow the footpath to the left towards "Hierabrunnen". First you walk uphill through the dense, cool forest until you reach the Balzenwaldhütte signpost. Here you have reached the highest point of your tour.
Now follow the red diamond with the white line downhill through the now lighter forest and keep right at the signposts towards Lenzkirch. The narrow path takes you out of the forest again, where you can enjoy the sun's rays on your skin. You cross a forest path and continue downhill until you come to a wider path again. Here, at the "Großmoos" signpost, turn right towards Lenzkirch and follow a narrow path to the Hierakreuz. You can rest on a bench and enjoy the view of the surrounding area. Continue right towards the ruins of "Urach" Castle until you reach the lowest point of the tour.
Here you come to a tarred path, which you follow to the right for just under a kilometer before taking the next opportunity to turn right and follow the blue and white diamond uphill towards Saig. Now you walk along the edge of the forest, cross some fields and finally reach the houses of "Hiera". Follow the blue and white diamond uphill, past the parking lot and back onto a narrow path. You walk along cow pastures until you reach the "Vitenhof" farm on the left. Now continue to follow the rhombus past the viewing point on the "Vitenhofweg", where you have a wide view over Saig and the surrounding hills and can enjoy the warm rays of the sun once again. Keeping to the left, you return to the village and the starting point.

Requirements due to the climate: low
Predominantly subdued climatic stimuli in the protection of the forest. On the last third of the trail, climate stimuli intensify on sunny and wind-exposed open spaces. In winter, frequent cold stimuli above the open spaces and on the higher sections of the path, very rare heat stress in summer.
