Beschreibung
A challenging round trip starting from Muggenbrunn (Wasen) or Todtnauberg (Radschert). The fantastic panorama from the 1386 metre high Stübenwasen will make you forget the effort. Most of the cross-country trail is also used by winter walkers. The first section to Stübenwasen, in particular, takes you through wide, open landscapes with magnificent views. Stübenwasen in particular offers a fascinating panorama. The rest of the route, past the idyllic Stübenwasen mountain inn to Wasen, takes you through a snow-covered fir forest to the starting point of the tour.
Autorentipp
The idyllic Stübenwasen mountain inn is right on the edge of the trail at kilometre 8. It's definitely worth a stop.
Wegbeschreibung
The tour starts in Muggenbrunn. From here the trail climbs slightly for about two kilometres via Heubühl to Schweine. A short descent follows until you reach winter hiking trail no. 5 (with cross-country ski run). This continues uphill to the Radschert in Todtnauberg. Cross the car park and follow the Martin-Heidegger-Weg to the Jakobuskreuz. Shortly after the Jakobuskreuz, the path branches off to the left. From here, the Lachenwasenweg leads directly to the Stübenwasen (1386 m). Once at the top, there are fantastic views of the snow-capped Black Forest Highlands, mountain Feldberg, the Wiesental valley and the snow-capped Alps to the south. After a short rest, you start the two kilometre descent past the Stübenwasen mountain inn towards Notschrei. There are some gentle climbs, followed by short, fast descents, before the route branches off to the left above the Wasen at km 12. A final descent brings you back to the starting point of the tour, the Wasen car park in Muggenbrunn.
Sicherheitshinweise
Find out in advance about the snow conditions and the weather in the Todtnau mountains. Especially on the Stübenwasen, it can be very windy and/or foggy!
