This challenging stage of the Way of St. James takes you from the train station in Neustadt over bridges, meadows and forests past Lake Titisee and various places of worship to Himmelreich. You will also pass Hinterzarten, the popular climatic health resort, on our tour.

A short detour to the barefoot path at the Helios Clinic is worthwhile. Here you can sharpen your senses for the rest of the walk.
You should not miss out on a visit to the places of worship along the way. The St. Oswald Chapel in Höllental is particularly worth a visit. The key to the chapel can be borrowed for a deposit at the reception of Hofgut Sternen.
Wegbeschreibung
From the starting point, the train station in Neustadt, follow Bahnhof Straße to its end and turn left into Gutachstraße. After crossing the railroad tracks and a short time later crossing under the main road, turn left into the B31 underpass just before the Schwarzenbach stream. On the other side of the road, take the path on the right and follow it for approx. 1 km.
A short detour to the barefoot labyrinth at the Helios Clinic is worthwhile for those who want to sharpen their senses for the rest of the pilgrimage. To do this, take the turn-off to the right approx. 600m after the underpass, follow the Glasbergweg, turn right into Neustädter Straße and after another 250m turn left into Jostalstraße. The barefoot labyrinth is located in the Kurpark, behind the Helios Klinik.
Turn left at Große Tannenweg and follow this path to the Titiseeweg location. At this location, turn right along the path that winds its way down the valley. You emerge from the forest and can already see your next destination, Lake Titisee. To get there, cross under the main road, shortly afterwards the railroad tracks and follow Seebachstraße into the center of Titisee-Neustadt. You can rest on the shore of Lake Titisee and watch the hustle and bustle on the lake.
After passing the Kurhaus, turn into Alte Poststraße a few meters later and you will see the Christkönig Catholic Church. Follow the yellow diamond signs towards Hinterzarten. In Hinterzarten, walk past the ski jumps and head into the town center. The Catholic church Maria in der Zarten and the Protestant church Zu den zwölf Aposteln are well worth a visit. Now follow the white and red diamond through the center of Hinterzarten until you turn into the Löffeltalweg. In the Löffeltal valley, various knocking and high gait saws await you. The St. Oswald Chapel is just a few meters from the Hotel Hofgut Sternen.
The path now leads you towards Himmelreich. Follow the path you are on. The path leads you through forests, meadows and past streams and lakes. The scallop shell serves as a landmark.
The Chapel of St. James, your final destination, is located directly in Himmelreich. The tour ends here with a visit to this pretty little chapel.
