Todtnau is located in the heart of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park between mountain Feldberg and mountain Belchen in the upper Wiesental valley. Due to its location between the highest Black Forest mountains, the village offers hiking, biking and mountain bike routes of various degrees of difficulty, but always with beautiful views of the Black Forest. The rustic and cozy mountain huts at the mountains Stübenwasen, Gisiboden or Hasenhorn are just perfect for a little snack or meal in between. At the summit cross, the everyday life gets forgotten about and remains far down in the valley, while the dreamlike panorama on the Black Forest Highlands and the Alps compensates for all efforts.
In the valley, two real highlights await you: the summer toboggan run Hasenhorn Coaster at Todtnau's local mountain, the 1,155-meter-high Hasenhorn, as well as the impressive Todtnau waterfall. At Germany's highest natural waterfall, the water of the Stübenbach river falls roaringly over a total of four steps down to the valley - past the treasure stone, a monolith with notches showing an old treasure or mine map. Who knows for sure? The water experience can be enjoyed especially well on the Genusserpfad Wasserfallsteig (waterfall trail).Â

Family-friendly businesses, children's hiking trails, a children's holiday program and various leisure facilities ensure lots of fun on vacation with children.
Todtnau is also an ideal destination for winter vacations: 19 ski lifts, downhill runs from easy to World Cup level, family toboggan run, 60 km of prepared cross-country ski trails, 70 km of maintained winter hiking trails and a natural ice rink are located in Todtnau - thanks to the altitude, with relatively high snow reliability.
